Clanbrassil - 1641 - Stayed at Newtown House and taken medicine against fleabites, later
during his sleep he was visited by the spirit of a "hairy man" who removed his
shirt leaving only the collar and cuffs ... Hans Hamilton then went to visit James
to check that the medicine had worked, finding James in this state Hans brought him a
fresh shirt but the only one available was a half shirt which barely reached his navel,
having got on his breeches and doublit with the help of Hans , for James was very fat , ..
his servants were then let in to dress him and bring him a chamber pot, .. in which they
found the rest of his shirt wrapped up ... the servants were then sworn to silence. James
then went to the parlour and dined with Viscount Montgomery where they also took a morning
draught. James then left to visit his cousin at Carnaseure near Comber, another Hans
